Mumbai Indians happy | South Africa to host IPL 2009

Mumbai: Mumbai Indians would miss the excitement of playing in their home ground, but under the circumstances, were happy with the decision to play the second season of IPL in South Africa, its owner Nita Ambani said.

"Mumbai Indians will miss the excitement of playing in our home ground Mumbai and in India. However, under the limitations of the present circumstances, we are taking the unexpected turn of events positively and believe that it will add an exciting new facet to IPL. We are happy with the decision to play the second season of IPL in South Africa", she said.

The IPL on Wednesday decided to hold the second edition in South Africa after its Commissioner Lalit Modi held a meeting with Cricket South Africa chief Gerald Majola in Johannesburg.

Mrs Ambani said that the entire team was looking forward to meet the challenges.

"We are keenly looking forward to the start of this edition from Mid-April. The entire team of Mumbai Indians is gearing up to meet a different set of challenges and keenly look forward to the start of the edition.
