Monalisa - with her large dark eyes and beautiful smile, can easily steal away any heart. A familiar face on the small screens, Monalisa has been present in the media for quite a while now. From TV commercials to TV plays, drama serials, tele-films, and more, she has left her mark almost everywhere.
Today we bring our readers the tale of Monalisa as she shares with us the story of her journey to stardom, future plans and more.

Monalisa grew up very much like any typical girl, loved to hang out with friends and loved the spicy Fuchka at the road-side shops. She was also a student of classical dance.
One day while returning home from school she saw herself in the TVC of Fair and Lovely.
“In 1997, my mother submitted my photos to an advertisement firm. One day they called me up for a screen test. Surprisingly, I was selected for a TVC and started the shooting. And when it was aired the response was astounding. TVCs can take anyone to a large audience within a very short span of time.”
After her debut in TVCs in 1997 there was no looking back for Monalisa. She modelled in the TVCs of Lily beauty soap, Fizz-Up, Fair and Lovely, Meril Lemon Soap, Swan Coconut Oil, Jony Print Saree, Toshiba Colour Television and many more.
Speaking about her favourite models, she says, “From my childhood, I have found the duo Mou apu and Nobel bhai as favourite.”
Many see modelling as the first step to prepare themselves for the media. Speaking about this, Monalisa says, “TVC is a great platform for any beginner. It helps a model get a huge exposure.”
Speaking about the recent TVCs, Monalisa says, “These days many young and talented directors are coming into TVC making, which is a good sign for the sector for this propels it forward.”
Speaking about her current projects, she shares, “Quite a few number of single-episode TV plays in which I have acted are ready to go on air; they will be aired very soon, hopefully, in the following months. In the plays my co-artistes are mostly Shojol, Apurbo and Arefin Shuvo.”
“I am very selective about my work and I always wait for the perfect script. I am not interested to act in any mega/ drama serials as I get bored working in a long drama that has no sign of ending in sight.” she added.
Speaking about her preferred arenas, Monalisa says, “I am used to working in all sectors related to media. But I am always excited whenever I am working in a TVC.”
Sharing her future plans, Monalisa says, “I want to focus more on the present and don’t want to think about anything which is not certain. So, I don’t really have any future plan.”
If Monalisa was blessed with a genie’s wish what would she want? “I would ask to enable me to spend some time with my favourite actor Amir Khan.”
