To embrace the Bangla New Year 1418, musical concerts were organised in different areas of the capital Dhaka.
Concerts, featuring leading and popular bands and singers, added a special note to the celebrations of Pahela Baishakh, the first day of the Bengali New Year.
On the occasion of Pahela Baishakh, Dhaka city had turned into a city of concerts, especially the Dhaka University areas.
Millions of music lovers flocked to the Dhaka University and the Ramna Park areas to enjoy the concerts presented by popular artistes.
For the popular bands and singers, Pahela Baishakh had been a busy schedule.
Some artistes had to perform even at different venues to entertain the music lovers.
Among others, the most-awaited concert of the day was held at the base of Raju Memorial featuring popular singer Mila and rock bands Warfaze and LRB.
The concert began in the afternoon with the performance of Warfaze. When it comes to Mila, she performed brilliantly on the stage. Ayub Bachchu took the stage with his unique style; his fans could not help sitting around and dancing with his popular tunes.
The concert enthralled thousands of music-lovers with the sparkling performances of the artistes.
The entire concert was a presentation of Coca-Cola, a multinational soft drink company.
Another Baishakhi gig titled ‘Airtel Bhalobashar Concert’ was held at the Ramna Park. Thousands of people enjoyed the concert there.
The artistes at the concerts, organised by Federation of Workers Association, enthralled the audience with their popular numbers.
Singers and bands of the country, including Lalon, James and Nagarbaul, Maksud and Dhaka, Mehrin, Momtaz and Hyder Husyn, performed at the concert.
Private television channel Banglavision aired the entire concert live.
Another concert was organised by Recreation Club at Rabindra Sarobar at Dhanmondi in the city.
