Celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, the British Council and Grameenphone have joined hands in search of the next generation of Tagore singers.
The joint venture aims at unearthing talented Tagore singers of the country with a nationwide talent hunt Nobogaaney Nobopraney, which is going on air on Channel i from tomorrow.
The programme will feature a total of forty Tagore singers, selected through nationwide auditions. Of the selected singers, twenty will make it to the second round, out of which 10 will make it to the next level. The final of the talent hunt will be held with the top six singers.
Noted Tagore singer Rezwana Chowdhury Bonna is the main judge of the ten-episode-talent-hunt programme, which will be aired on every Wednesday at 9:35pm. Tagore singers Sadi Mohammad, Lili Islam, Anup Bhattacharya, Mridul Kanti Chakrabarti, Papia Sarwar, Mita Haque, Sajed Akbar and others will be accompanying Bonna as guest judges during the episodes.
