Naznin Mimi is popularly known as a stage performer. She likes stage performance rather than others. From her very early childhood life Mimi has been engaged with music.
“When I started to rendering song during my childhood life, my family members especially my father encouraged me always. Even my father also played tabla to assist me to rendering song while I was playing harmonium. By this way my passion to music has improved and now it has became one of my routine works. Now I feel comfortable to introduce myself as a singer,” said promising singer of present time Naznin Mimi while sharing her musical career yesterday at a telephonic interview.
Mimi is now performing as a host for a music related weekly show titled ‘Music Beat,’ which is being aired on Ekushey Television every Tuesdays at 7:50pm. Recently she has completed shooting for a five-episode programme for Banglavision where top 10 contestants of ‘Premier Bank Gorbo’ took part. Mimi will host this show and it will go on air from next week, she said.
Naznin Mimi’s debut solo album titled ‘Diwana’ was released under the banner of Laser Vision in 2009. In this album, her titled track ‘Diwana’ got so popularity that she is now also known as ‘Diwana Mimi.’
Mimi’s song also took place in legendary rock icon of the country Ayub Bachchu’s mixed alsum titled ‘Anubhobe,’ which was released under the banner of Fahim Music recently.
“Bachchu bhai became so impressed with my performance and I have learned many things about the pros and cons of the rock composition from him while working,” said Mimi.
However, Mimi also gave vocal for playback for the movies ‘Poran Jai Jwoliya’ and ‘Tomar-e Chhilam Tomar-e Achhi.’ In the second one its title song was also rendered by her. Now she is also busy with her study. She is now doing master in Sociology and Anthropology in Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology. Therefore, she has also completed shooting for upcoming satellite television channel, Gazi TV, which is go on air from next month, according to Mimi.
While sharing her future plan Mimi told this correspondent, “I have a plan to do my next album which will be absolutely based on melody-based tunes.”
Mimi also performed in many stage performances at home and abroad including Japan. She has a plan to perform in the USA and Canada this year, she said.
