“To me, music is a prayer; it gives me peace and harmony. In life I wish to create such music which will be remembered for many years after I am gone,” said Kishore while speaking to daily sun recently.
After his introduction in the music scene through Close up 1, Kishore has been fast in getting a foothold in the musical arena. His hit tracks Jachcho tumi, Tomar jonno, Bristi, Bhalobasha dibosh and so on catapulted a young Kishore to fame instantly.
Apart from being a rising singer, Kishore is also a song-writer and a music composer, who likes to do his compositions.
Speaking about his early days, Kishore said, “Born and raised in a music-oriented family, I had been introduced to music from a very early age. My father was an enlisted singer of BTV. He was always there for me whenever I needed him.”
“I received my first music lesson of Sa re ga ma from Ustad Prokash Chandra Shil and later I learned singing under the tutelage of Ustad Mihir Lala in Chittagong,” he added.
“Though I was learning to sing from an early age, I never really gave professional singing a serious thought. I rather wanted to become a cricketer.
My auditions in Close up 1 in 2006 was something which I did simply out of sheer curiosity. However, I ended up winning the contest.” he continued.
About his experience in Close up 1, Kishore said, “Close up 1 gave me a platform, I became known across the country and for which I am really grateful to Close up 1. I came in contact with many leading figures of our music scene like Kumar Bishwajit, Partha Barua, Manam Ahmed and Bappa Majumdar, at the contest, which was certainly the realisation of a dream of mine.”
“My career got a boost after the release of my second solo-album. The song Jachcho tumi, jao durey, badha debo na, in the album is one of my most popular songs. I believe the album established me in the contemporary music scene,” said Kishore while talking about his turning point in the career.
About his released songs and albums, Kishore informed, “Till date, I have sung in many mixed albums including Hello Bristi(2006), Boka(2007), Shara Raat(2010), Priyo Bangladesh(2010) and so on.
I began my solo musical career in 2008 with Nikhoj Shongbad, my debut solo-album. After that album, I gave music a pause for two years to learn about music composition.
I returned in the music scene in 2010 with Firey Asho Na, my second solo-album. My third solo-album Ogochhalo Bhalobasha contains 10 songs. The title track of the album features Fahmida Nabi as a co singer. The album from G Series was released on the Valentine’s Day.”
Speaking about his current projects, Kishore said, “I am now busy with live shows and performances, I am doing many shows across the country. On this Pahela Baishakh, I will probably be performing in Chittagong. I am busy with the promotional events of my third solo-album. However, I will be appearing on TV channels regularly.”
“I wish to maintain quality in my music as I go forward,” ended Kishore.
