Mobile phone operator Robi Axiata Ltd has set up the ‘Oracle Exadata Database Machine X2-8, a high-capacity system for large data warehousing and consolidated workloads, to speed up its services further.
This new system will improve queries performance by ten times and data loading by 30 times. All these are intended to achieve high performance in developing data warehouse and thus provide more assuring services to the customers, said a press release. Oracle’s Exadata machine has built-in features to improve data storage time and reduce data storage cost.
“The results we have witnessed with Oracle Exadata Database Machine have been excellent. It helped us to simplify part of the IT infrastructure and reduced operation cost,” said A.K.M Morshed, chief technical officer of Robi.
He said the database machine enabled Robi to increase data mining and analytical efficiency to provide better services to its customers.
