Golden Globes 70th awards held

The 70th annual Golden Globes took over Hollywood on Sunday evening with hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hilariously at the helm.

"Argo", set amidst the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis, was the night's biggest surprise, as director Ben Affleck bounced back from an Oscar snub earlier in the week to accept Globe wins for director and Motion Picture - Drama.
Best actor in a drama was awarded to Daniel Day-Lewis for his role in the biopic Lincoln, while the best actress in a drama was awrded to Jessica Chastain, for Zero Dark Thirty.
Earlier, best song award was won by the British singer Adele, for the theme to the James Bond film Skyfall.
Dame Maggie Smith won best supporting actress in a series for her role in Downton Abbey.
Damian Lewis winning best TV actor for his role in the series, Homeland, which also took best TV drama award.

Quentin Tarantino bagged best screenplay for his film Django Unchained, which was also nominated for best film.
The other nominees in the category were Steven Spielberg's Lincoln, Life of Pi, Ang Lee's adaption of the Yann Martel novel, and Zero Dark Thirty, Kathryn Bigelow's film about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden.
The Cecil B DeMille Award for lifetime achievement was awarded to Jodie Foster, a seven-time Globe nominee and two-time Oscar winner, received
The ceremony was shown live in the US on the NBC network, with edited highlights to follow in the UK on the 5USA channel on Monday.
