20,554 Bangladeshis return home from Libya

The International Migration Organisation (IMO) has brought back home 20,554 Bangladeshis from Libya till  Thursday.

It would be possible to bring back all Bangladeshis who have been stranded along different borders after leaving Libya within March 27, said an IMO press release Thursday.

But more Bangladeshis are still leaving Libya, the IMO said and added that steps would be taken for their repatriation after making an estimate. According to IMO sources, a total of 300,000 migrants from different countries have so far left Libya. Of them, the IMO has repatriated about 35,000 people, including 20,000 Bangladeshis.
