Rani Sarkar is critically ill

Country’s one of the legendary actresses Rani Sarkar is critically ill now. She is suffering from Cholelithiasis. For this disease last week at Suhrawardy Hospital she found that her liver has been affected day by day.

At present, she is under treatment of Dr PK Das. Her financial condition makes her difficulty to bear the treatment costs.



“I started working in the film arena with fascination and affection to this arena. But those golden days are now past. I have to pass days with hardship. Now I am in a fix to bear not only my treatment costs but also to survive at this moment. My operation will be held on Wednesday,” said Rani Sarker.

At present, directors or makers are not calling this 79-year old to cast in any of their production. She has performed in 250 movies. In 1962, Rani Sarkar performed in movie ‘Chanda’ in role of Shabnam’s mother. Talash, Bondhan, Sangma, Titash Ekti Nodir Naam, Chandranath, Shuvoda, Debdas, among others, are her performed movies. She lastly performed in movie ‘Third Person Singular Number,’ directed by Mostafa Sarwar Farooki.
