Monalisa, a pretty face on small screen, who has been working on plays and serials, is back again as a model with two TV commercials made before Eid-ul Azha.

“Despite being regular on TV plays and others, my greatest pleasure is to work on TV commercials (TVCs). Apparently, after one-year break, two TVCs featuring me have been aired since this Eid,” said Monalisa in a conversation with daily sun recently.
In the candid interview, the glamour girl also told about her return to TVC, her Eid special TV plays and more.
Monalisa has made a comeback in TVCs through Himu Akram’s Remy Fairness Cream and Tibbet Petroleum Jelly, directed by Shanak Mitra.
“As I was in Singapore for a 6-month vacation earlier this year, I was away from the showbiz. Apart from this, I think I am selective enough to take any venture. These are the reasons for my absence from TVCs,” replied Monalisa when asked about her absence from TVCs.
Both of her TVCs have already received attention from viewers. “It is always an encouragement for any performer to get feedback for his/her work. I think viewers’ appreciation will surely boost me to go a long a way in the industry,” she added.

Apart from her modelling career, the model-turned-actress has a busy schedule of single-episode TV plays and serials.
On the occasion of this Eid, a total of 6 single-episode TV plays featuring Monalisa had been aired on various channels.
“Before Eid, I had a busy schedule to complete Eid special TV plays in time. The plays that I work on for the Eid are Ferdous Hasan’s Lakshmichhara, Dipankar Dipon’s Monjontro, Shabur Ahmed’s Miabibi Razi, Shushmoy Shumon’s Benefit of Doubt, Ahmed Shushmy’s Shondha Feri and Diti’s Khunshuti Ke Dilam Chhuti.”
Aside from Eid plays, Monalisa will be busy soon with a few single-episode plays and a serial. “I shall be playing a blind girl’s character for Shoikot Ray’s Maya. Based on a romantic story, the play will feature Anisur Rahman Milon as my co-actor. The shooting of the play will start soon. I shall also appear on Himu Akram’s next project co-starring Sajal. I have plans to work on Ferdous Hasan’s upcoming serial which has not yet been titled,” said Monalisa.
It is apparent that Monalisa focuses more on single-episode TV plays rather than serials. She said, “I am not interested to act in any mega drama serials as I get bored working on a long drama that has no sign of ending in sight.”

Though Monalisa now lives in the glamour world, she had teen days as simple as anyone else. Looking back on her early days, Monalisa recalled, “I grew up very much like any typical girl, loved to hang out with friends and have the spicy Fuchka at the road-side shops. I was also a student of classical dance in my early days.”
“In 1997, my mother submitted my photos to an advertisement firm. One day they called me up for a screen test. Surprisingly, I was selected for a TVC and started shooting. And when it was aired on TV the response was astounding. TVCs can take anyone to a large audience within a very short span of time,” she added.
From then onwards, Monalisa never looks back and reigns over small screen with her million-dollar smile.
Asked about her future plans, she said, “I want to concentrate more on the present and do not want to think about anything which is not certain. So, I don’t really have any future plan.”
Monalisa concluded her conversation sharing her wish to stay in the hearts of her fans in the years to come.
