“Future in Frames” is the theme of the 5th International Children’s Film Festival, going to be held from 21st to 27th January 2012 in Bangladesh. The festival will begin at Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of Central Public Library, Shahbagh and will run simultaneously in 7 divisional cities of the country.
In association with UNICEF, Children's Film Society Bangladesh is going to organize the festival. Planning Minister, Air Vice Marshal (retd.) AK Khandaker, will inaugurate the festival. Veteran artist and chairman of the Festival Advisory Committee, Mustafa Monwar, will preside over the program.
The festival will screen almost 250 full-length features, short films, animations, and documentaries from 42 participating countries in 20 venues throughout the country. It will also feature a contest on films made by children, workshops and seminars on different aspects of filmmaking. The five best movies will be awarded crests, certificates and token money of BDT 25,000 each which will be selected by a jury board comprises of children.
