Reliance DreamWorks, a venture between industrialist Anil Ambani and Hollywood producer-director Steven Spielberg, produced three pictures and have bagged as many as 11 Oscar nominations this year.

The production house has reaped 11 Oscar Nominations for 3 of their films: “War Horse”, “The Help” and “Real Steel”.
For the first time movies produced by a company with such huge Indian holding has took such large nominations for one of the most prestigious film awards across the globe.
Reliance DreamWorks’ “War Horse” and “The Help” fell among the 9 nominated films in The Best Film category.
War Horse, directed by Steven Spielberg, has been nominated in 6 categories that include The Best Picture, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, Original Score (John Williams), Art Direction and Cinematography.
Tate Tylor directed “The Help” has been nominated for The Best Picture, Best Actress (Viola Davis), Best Supporting Actress (Jessica Chastain and Octavia Spencer).
While sci- fi thriller” Real Steel” has been nominated for Best achievement in Visual Effects.
Sohan Roy`s ‘DAM 999’ was India`s only hope as regional language film at the Oscars …other than Reliance DreamWorks produced films. But ‘DAM 999’, has not made it to the final Oscar nominations to any category.
One of Ambani`s group firms and Spielberg-promoted venture had forged a mega venture in 2008 to make films for the global audience and set up a Hollywood studio.
