First solo musical album of popular singer Shakila Jafar titled “Labonye Purno Pran”, sponsored by Eastern Bank Ltd, was launched at a function at The Gallery in the city's Gulshan area on Thursday evening.
Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Kamal Lohani, Managing Director of Desh TV Asaduzzaman Noor MP, Proprietor of G-Series Nazmul Haque Bhuiyan Khaled, singers Subir Nandi, Tapan Chowdhury and Kanak Chanpa, Tagore artiste Sadi Mohammad, dance artiste Shibli Mohammad, music personality Sanjeeb Dey, among others, were present at the album launching ceremony.
Sister concern of G-Series, Agniveena has released the album on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore and on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh.
A total of 10 Tagore songs take place in the album. Title tracks are: “Ektuku chhoyan lagey,” “Kon se jhorer bhul,” “Jonaki ki sukhe oi,” “Ogo aamar chiro achena,” “Aamar mon kemon kore,” “Shewly phul,” “Eki labonye purno pran,” “Aami kaan pete roi,” “Na bujhe kare tumi” and “Tumi robe nirobe.”
